- Vincent Delebarre, la force tranquille -
D’abord triathlète, Vincent Delebarre, pratique le trail sans le savoir dès l’âge de 12 ans. A cette époque, il court déjà sur les sentiers alors qu’il attend ses parents en montagne, tantôt en haut des cols tantôt en bas. Pionnier de la discipline, il remporte Le Festival des Templiers en 1999 et en 2000 avant de venir s’imposer en 2004 sur l’#UTMB, tout en maîtrise et en sérénité. Une édition qu’il boucle devant son ami Dawa Dachhiri Sherpa avec lequel il partage le début de la course.
C’est à Champex, après 120 kilomètres parcourus, que l’enfant de la vallée prend le contrôle de la course. Toujours souriant et détendu, il prend le temps d’écouter les joueurs de cors des Alpes, comme un officiel de passage qui rend hommage aux traditions locales. Normal, Vincent est un peu le local de l’étape. Entraîneur du club de course à pied de Chamonix (CMBM), il connaît le parcours comme sa poche et gère sa course en conséquence. Dans la dernière montée avant Chamonix, sur les sentiers des Gardes, il jette ses dernières forces dans la bataille et s’offre le luxe de s’arrêter au sommet comme pour ne pas terminer trop vite, comme pour prolonger encore un peu l’aventure. Très attaché à l’UTMB®, il réitère l’expérience l’année suivante, en terminant sur la deuxième marche du podium. Définitivement, la force tranquille de cet UTMB®.

- Vincent Delebarre, the quiet strength -
During his childhood, Vincent Delebarre have been practicing trail-running without knowing it. At the age of 12, he is already running on mountain trails while waiting for his parents at the top of passes. Pioneer of the discipline, he has a background of triathlete that allows him to win in the Festival des Templiers in 1999 and 2000. In 2004, for its second edition, he won UTMB® ahead his friend Dawa Sherpa, having shared with him the first part of the race.
It is in Champex, that the child of the valley takes control of the race. Always smiling and relaxed, he takes the time to listen to the corn players of the Alps, as a passing official who pays tribute to local traditions. Normal, Vincent is kind of a local here. Coach for the Chamonix running club (CMBM), he knows the course by heart and manages his race accordingly. In the last climb before Chamonix, he threw his last strength in the battle allowing him to take a small break at the summit, enjoying the end of a race where his mental and body were perfectly balanced. True UTMB® lover, he does it again the following year, finishing 2dn overall. Marking for good UTMB® with his quiet strength.
